Unearthed Home Decor is primarily a B2B wholesale supplier of artisanal decor, homeware, lighting, and kitchenware. We have recently launched a B2C component on our website, offering our designs to customers at retail prices.
We are a community of passionate artisans and designers dedicated to ethical craftsmanship, sustainability, and contemporary African design. Every piece we offer tells a story of artistry and purpose, carefully handcrafted in South Africa.
Our work is deeply rooted in collaboration with skilled informal artisans—true masters of their craft. Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in the materials we use. The majority of our wood is sourced from alien vegetation, which threatens South Africa’s indigenous ecosystems and water resources. Additionally, we source wood from tree fellers, and repurpose wood, ensuring that every product we create is as environmentally responsible as it is beautiful.
We blend global design trends with a distinctive African touch. Inspired by the Wabi Sabi philosophy, we embrace nature’s imperfections—celebrating organic cracks, variations in size, and unique wood grain patterns as essential parts of the aesthetic. Wood Disclaimer and Care Guide
The majority of the wood that we use is alien-cleared eucalyptus sculptured by incredibly talented informal artisans.

The wood used in crafting our products is a natural material, and as such, variations in appearance should be expected. You may notice unique features such as knots, texture differences, and distinct grain patterns, which contribute to the beauty and individuality of each piece. These variations mean that no two items will be identical, and the product you receive may differ slightly from samples or marketing imagery.
Wood, as a living material, is sensitive to changes in temperature and humidity. It may expand, contract, developing cracks, known as “Checks.” This is a completely normal process. Additionally, exposure to natural elements may cause the wood’s colour to change over time, often shifting from a yellowish hue to a grayish tone, particularly if left untreated and exposed to the outdoors.
